Hi, I'm Hauke
As a mathematician, I am one of the few exotic people here. Nevertheless, I always feel like I'm right in the middle of the big AKRA family. I get a lot of trust and freedom here. For exactly what interests me.
I've been a Data Scientist at AKRA since 2021. Data science is a huge field! And can be so many different things. The aim is always to generate value from data, such as insights or predictions. For example, by organizing and analyzing the data - or by bringing artificial intelligence into play. I personally don't like the word “intelligence”. It raises such huge expectations! At the end of the day, it's just crazy computing. I'm not afraid that AI will take our jobs at some point. But it is helpful. For example, when ChatGPT helps me with my speech for our kindergarten club.

I studied math for a diploma and a teaching degree, and did a doctorate in it. Before I joined AKRA, I was a data scientist for ship data. I like to do my own thing! When I'm immersed in the world of data at my desk - and in my free time. I like to do sports, ride my road and gravel bike, go jogging and swimming. Last year, I completed my first triathlon. I also enjoy making music. I've been playing guitar for 20 years, as well as trombone and piano. I like to teach myself new things. Because that's what I learned as a mathematician: keep drilling into it until it clicks! No matter what it is, you can understand and learn it.

We have three small children. So it's good that I can also work from home. That way I can also be there for the children during the day. I really enjoy working flexibly. Project-based, on a wide variety of topics. I used to do something with photovoltaics, dentistry, car leasing, insurance. I like the challenge of having no idea about a specialist area at first. To gradually read my way in. And then paving my own way. In terms of content as well as technically and methodically. I don't need step-by-step instructions for that. They don't exist in data science either! Because the path is not yet clear. I just get started - and find it myself.

AKRA also gives me the freedom to keep exploring new paths. The data science cosmos is getting bigger every day! And there's so much I don't know yet. So if I have a little more time between projects, AKRA says: Do something smart! You know best what will get you ahead. I really appreciate this trust. And it has given me the opportunity to delve deeper into Google Cloud technologies, for example. It's extremely impressive what it can do. I'm excited to see what the future holds! And I'm already looking forward to finding my way in it.
